X-Men and Fantastic Four Face a Mutant Apocalypse in Marvel’s Explosive New Event ‘DNX’ this September!
Marvel’s mutants are heading toward a catastrophic turning point this September with DNX, a new five-issue comic book event series that unites the X-Men and Fantastic Four against a terrifying global threat.
Created by superstar writer Jed MacKay (X-Men) and acclaimed artist Federico Vicentini (Miles Morales: Spider-Man), DNX marks the latest crossover between two of Marvel’s most iconic teams. At the center of the story is the Chairman — the original Hank McCoy, also known as Beast — and his ruthless organization 3K, who are preparing to unleash a horrifying virus capable of forcibly transforming humanity into mutants.
The event builds on storylines seeded since the start of MacKay’s current X-Men run and promises major consequences across the Marvel Universe, reshaping the fragile balance between mutants and humanity.
Marvel also unveiled Kaare Andrews’ “Hidden” main cover for the debut issue, featuring a layered design with an alternate image concealed beneath the top cover.
"DNX is the next big milestone event of our X-Men (2024) run," MacKay explained. "Age of Revelation showed the future, and DNX shows that future’s impact on the present! The X-Men and 3K are on a collision course that has been set since issue one—and only one will survive. And with the Fantastic Four joining the fray, this is going to be an event that will transform the X-Men dramatically."
THE X-VIRUS UNLEASHED!
The conflict in DNX pits the X-Men directly against 3K, with both factions guided by heirs to Charles Xavier’s legacy — but driven by drastically different visions for mutantkind’s future.
After witnessing the dystopian future of the “Age of Revelation,” Cyclops and the Chairman return to the present with opposing missions: the X-Men seek to stop that future from happening, while 3K intends to bring it to life. As the X-Men turn to the Fantastic Four for help saving one of their own, the White Beast launches his plan to spread the deadly X-Virus in a heavily populated area.
"I'm so happy to be working on DNX," Vicentini shared. "I love what Jed is doing with X-Men (2024), and I've been telling him for a long time that I wanted to work with him. Now the opportunity has arrived, and it’s an even bigger challenge because I finally have the chance to work on the Fantastic Four too!
“I can't say anything about the plot, obviously, but I want you to know that I'm very excited about what we're doing, and I'm sure it'll be something you'll definitely want to read. That’s how I feel both as the artist and as a fan!" he continued.
Adding even more hype to the launch, DNX #1 will also be released through Marvel’s TRUE BELIEVERS BLIND BAGS program. The sealed bags will feature exclusive variant covers unavailable through standard orders, including rare hand-drawn sketch covers from surprise artists.
The blind bag exclusives will include artwork from Skottie Young, Leinil Francis Yu, Fanyang, Artgerm, John Tyler Christopher, Chris Giarrusso, Ken Lashley, and others, along with ultra-rare surprise covers and a special Marvel Rivals variant by NetEase Games.
Marvel also revealed several standard variant covers for the event, including Federico Vicentini’s connecting covers spanning all five issues, plus new artwork from Chip Zdarsky, Ryan Stegman, Marco Checchetto, Jim Lee, Jeehyung Lee, and John Tyler Christopher.
Additional exclusive blind bag covers will spotlight breakout X-Men character Temper in a new Artgerm illustration, while Ken Lashley delivers a massive team-up image featuring both the X-Men and Fantastic Four.
